I never compared the speed of the internet of the iphone compared to the instinct but one thing I will tell you that I have an ipod touch and I was suckered into buying the instinct and let me tell you that the instinct has nowhere near the amount of applications the iphone has. The iphones interface is a lot smoother, the overall feel if the iphone/ipod touch is superior. Sure the instinct has video/picture mail but that is not enough to make the instinct superior to the iphone.
My suggestion to you is not to buy this garbage. Look, Apple is a hardware software company. Most of everything Apple produces is a winner with design and ease of use. The Instinct is just bunch of electronic components slapped up together to capitalize on the iphone craze. I sure did not see ANYONE lining up at the Sprint store dying to buy an Instinct. If you're expecting to get equal use of the Instinct as an iphone you are sadly mistaken.
Two weeks into owning an Instinct I realized that I could not do SHIT with it. NO APPS, ok let me rephrase that, ONE app for use with twitter and it sucked. You go to the sprint store and you can't find any apps. The phone is garbage. If you want a smart phone that will kill your craving for an iphone on sprint, it will have to be the HTC Touch Pro. But you'll have to do research on that phone because I barely have 3 days with it and I'm still trying to figure it out.
So you have an instinct and you're telling all your friends "look I bought an instinct and it's fast on the internet" and they ask, what else does it do? does it have applications? games? (have you played Pac man on the instinct? PATHETIC!!!) On the other hand, someone buys an iphone and they say "look i have an phone, it has twitterrific, pownce, facebook, myspace, aol radio, pandora, ESPN cameraman, ebay, paypal, ibowl, lander, tap tap, a kick ass media application and the list goes on and on! The instinct on the other hand has a SUCK ASS APPLICATIONS meaning NONE! And a few months into selling this phone, still have not gotten their act together and it looks like they are getting ready to abandon this phone. Used to be the first phone on the Sprints phone gallery. Now they moved it to the bottom.
Sprint, my message to you is this, if you're going to compete, DO A FUCKING GOOD JOB, if you're going to make a half assed piece of shit phone, why waste your time? You KNOW EXACTLY what I am talking about. Piece of shit poor excuse of a iphone Un-competitor.
If you notice the commercials for both phones, only show internet download speed for Instinct but iphone? The commercials shows all the apps, games, music, video.
Yeah I am pissed and I'm expressing myself!

I HATE THIS PHONE. IT REALLY IS A NON WORKING ,ALWAYS CRASIHNG, way over priced (THE CAPS LOCK IS GOING ON AND OFF) PEICE OF SHIT. I REGRET BUYING IT AND WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG \ sprint product ever again. Please save yourself the trouble and get something else.
I also ownED this piece of shit phone and also have an iPod touch...man they suckered me good...the fuckign apps on it don't even work...they crash or won't even start...awful awful phone that was so bad i was willing to pay the early termination fee to get an iPhone and switch to AT&T
This phone is a piece of junk along with Sprint's service. I'm breaking my contract to go with a company that actually has reception and phones that work.
